Cícera is a brave 13-year-old girl who sets off alone on a journey through the heart of the Brazilian backlands in the late 19th century. A child of the sertão, she has learned to find strength in the dry earth, the twisted caatinga, and in the resilience of those who call that land home.

As conflict closes in on Canudos, Cícera is separated from everything familiar. Guided by her courage and the wisdom of those she meets along the way, she gathers resources, follows trails, and searches for answers — uncovering, step by step, a history far greater than herself.

She is not a warrior. She is not a chosen one. She is simply a daughter of the sertão — and that is more than enough.
